Hello client and friend.

First I would like to say thank you for your support during 2010 and I look forward to continuing our association in 2011. I wish you all the best for the year. This is “Studio Time”. You will be amazed at some of the questions we get on a daily basis and truth be told they must be expected. We can’t for once assume the client already knows everything. We hope to address some of those questions here and at the same time inform you about we are doing and the new features we have to offer. Feel free to make comments and offer suggestions. By the way, we have a new look!

We wanted a fresh new look for our company, simple yet effective.

I threw out the challenge to our designers and after a lengthy process, this is what they came up with...

Kudos to the entire team. Everyone had an input and I like it very much.
Do you? Tell us what you think.
So I’m at the office, and today is one of those days. I decided to bring up the topic of what defines a good website nowadays. After you visit a site and find yourself staying awhile, what makes you stay? A sense of humour helps. Flashy graphics are nice, but the fundamental traits that make a site work are more elusive.

In the past, the sexy proprietary page-layout and text markup features provided by Netscape and Explorer, as they leapfrog each other, have seduced many a webmaster into jazzing up their pages only to be forced to put "you must use Netscape/Explorer to view these pages" at the bottom. This could be rephrased to say "these pages look awful without Netscape or Explorer." Stick with a good web developer and your pages will look good on all browsers that support it.

Websites should:

Provide credible, original content in as many forms as possible.

Provide valuable, timely information to the user, not lots of data (too much information can be your #1 enemy). They should also be updated regularly. Stale websites say "been there, done that." In addition, for the information to be valuable it should be well edited.

Be interactive; good interactivity engages the user and makes your site memorable.

Be well-organized; balance the number of levels with page length to minimize scrolling and display time. It does not matter how useful the information on a website is if the readers have trouble locating it.

Also consider using good graphic metaphors which can make the user feel more comfortable navigating your site.

Have you ever wondered why Google is so popular?

Think about it. www.google.com

Take control of your logo and propel your business! Your logo is more than just art, it is the cornerstone of your business identity. Ideastudio will ensure that your logo is strong and impactful; that it entices your customers and instills confidence in them.

Yes a logo can do ALL of that!

It is very important to have a good logo, as a good logo builds and strengthens your reputation as a professional business. There are five things your logo should be:
1. Simple (and this does not mean boring, as a logo can be simple with some elaborate features) enough to make a quick statement.
2. Memorable
3. Timeless
4. Versatile
5.
Appropriate for your company’s image.

A logo can make a small business look great! Yours will...because we will create it!

So, is your current logo working for you?
Congrats to the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited on celebrating 100 years this year.

This is by no means a small feat as we have worked closely with them in developing a website dedicated to this achievement. We urge you to visit them and see what’s going on.

Financially, tough times are upon us all. We are looking at practical ways to cut costs. However, the mistake often made is to cut down on advertising. Despite being in a recession, maintaining a strong relationship with your current client base, as well as attracting new ones is top priority.

Through advertising, be it in graphics or website development, you maintain an alliance with your current clients by keeping them updated about your products and services, while at the same time, attracting new clients.

In addition, as mentioned before, it is not uncommon for businesses to minimise advertising during a recession. By keeping your business' name in the market, you have the edge over your competition.

Advertising during a recession also maintains your credibility as a business. It gives the impression that even though most businesses are struggling, your business is in top form and still has a strong footing in the market.

Now is the time to reassure your clients you are at the top of your game and can continue to offer the superior services you have been providing them with. It is always important to remain optimistic during a recession. Having a strategic plan and a positive business sense can only yield good results during any economic time.
